Round 3 of the 2011 STCC results now online...

The winning 13.5T car - Corally Phi/09 with Corally ProRED motor.

A fantastic meeting this one. It took place on Sunday 22nd May at a new track to the STCC, Adur at Shoreham by Sea. An ideal location, a few hundred yards from the sea front and a fantastic location, did I already say that......

Adur is the second of the new tracks to the Corally/STCC in 2011, and yet again another great venue. A totally different challenge this, the Adur track is absolutely ideal for electric TC. A 19 lap track for the TC3 (13.5T) class, with a really rewarding racing line, when you can use it and are not having to defend your position. Wide track, excellent grip, superb trackmarking, what more could you want.

The STCC classes now are where we wanted them to be, with very little difference in outright car performance being available to all without any "special" cells or motors or access or knowledge, BL racing has finally come of age without all the costs and secrets that have from time to time dogged the class in the past.

The FTQ draw for the latest Corally Phi/09 kit went to number #29 Darren Potter, from the Eastbourne Club.

I really thrilled to see how well the TC4 (21.5T unrestricted ESC) class is slowly being recognised and support is growing, with a race difference of just over 2 laps we have the difference in speed that I think is just right to distinguish the classes, and these TC4 classes are so good to watch, you can see the racing unfold in front of you and how close it all is, and it is clear the drivers are absolutely loving it too, with only 5/100th of a second separating the top 2 in the FTQ, so very well done Bryan and very hard luck Trevor. The finals went to the 3 final, with a 1/ 2 to both Bryan and Ian with Matt 3/3/3 doing his hardest to keep in touch and pick up any pieces from the lead pair and Trevor struggling to get through the starts ending with a 4/4/4.  Big congratulations to the overall top 3 drivers - Bryan, Ian and Matt, and commiserations to Trevor in 4th.

TC4 A Final winners                          TC3 A Final winners
TC4-A Final - 2nd: Ian Billett 1st: Bryan Nortje 3rd: Matt Prigmore       TC3-A Final - 2nd: Bryan Loynes 1st: Mark Fuller 3rd: Andy Robson
2nd: Ian Billett 1st: Bryan Nortje 3rd: Matt Prigmore           2nd: Bryan Loynes 1st: Mark Fuller 3rd: Andy Robson

In the TC3 (13.5T unrestricted ESC) class, it was clear from the start this was going to be close, with the top 5 cars on 19 laps and the next 18 cars on 18 laps for the FTQ!! The FTQ eventually went to Bryan Loynes finally taking the FTQ from Mark Fuller, by 1.72s, it was going to be close! The first final went to Mark, the second going to Andy Robson after a coming together at the left hairpin, whilst Mark waited and even tried to right Bryan so they could continue without losing positions, Andy and Adam Pryke nipped through onyl for Adam to suffer a diff problem just as he was about to pass Andy on the straight, so 1st to Andy, 2nd to Mark and 3rd to Bryan. So going into the 3rd final it was Mark 1/2, Bryan 2/3 and Andy 5/1. It was going to be close and it was........in the end 1st Mark, 2nd  Bryan and 3rd to Andy, leaving the overall as the same order.

We had a great weekend at Adur, the track is really good, the club are really friendly and helpful, and the weather, despite the breeze was kind, as the pictures clearly show, it was windy, but with clear blue skies overhead most of the day, it was still warm, despite waking up on the Sunday morning to passing rain showers! If you have not been to the Adur track before, I urge you to visit it soon, you will not be dissappointed!
